Sardar Patel did 562 integration of the princely states The country was divided into different principals before Independence. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had merged 562 princely states into India. The map of India which was drawn into British rule, 40 percent of its land was with these princely states. After independence, these princes were given the option of merging or staying in India or Pakistan. Sardar Vallabhbhai had merged these princely states in India thanks to his farsightedness, diplomacy and diplomacy.
Nizam Usman Ali Khan Asif of Hyderabad decided to remain independent. Nizam decided that he would neither join India nor Pakistan. Sardar Patel carried out Operation Polo to disperse the Nizam of Hyderabad. Operation Polo, run in the year 1948, was a secret operation. Through this operation, Nizam Usman Ali Khan Asif was abducted from power and Hyderabad was made a part of India.
